Welcome to Siliguri
Siliguri is situated in the foothills of Himalayas on the banks of the river Mahananda. Siliguri is bound by Kurseong on the north, Bangladesh on the south, Jalpaiguri on the east and Nepal on the west. Potential and process of urban growth and development in Siliguri received recognition in 1931 when it became a non-municipal town, which was followed by its declaration as a Municipal Town in 1950. Siliguri Municipality had an area of 15.54 sq. km, which was substantially increased in 1994 to 41.90 sq. km when it was upgraded to Siliguri Municipal Corporation

Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority has been established under the West Bengal Town and Country (Planning & Development) Act 1979 (West Bengal Act - XIII of 1979) and has been entrusted with the responsibility of Planning & Development of Siliguri - Jalpaiguri Planning Area. It came into existence on the strength of said Act and on direction of Governor of West Bengal vide notification no- 1878 - T & CP/112-6/80 dtd

Auditorium Cum Art Gallery, Jalpaiguri
Auditorium Cum Art Gallery, Jalpaiguri was completed in November 1999. This has provided state-of-the-art facilities for of cultural programmes to the people of this area. This project has also opened up avenues for nurturing local talent, and spreading the rich heritage of the region.

Flyover At Railway Crossing At Mahabirsthan
Siliguri Town with current population of around 6 lac has a Railway Track connecting NJP Station and Siliguri Junction Station dividing the town IN TWO PARTS North and South by Railway track which has recently been converted to Broad Gauge from Meter gauge and also by NJP Darjeeling Toy train track. Rail traffic has increased considerably since then causing major hindrances for traffic using the level crossing

Perishable Cargo At Bagdogra Airport
The Center for Perishable Cargo (CPC) is to ensure maintenance of quality for fresh commodities (fruits, vegetables, cut flowers, fish, meat, pharmaceuticals etc.) during its transit to one place to other, maintaining cold chain. CPC is consisting of following areas :- Receiving area 1.Examination area 2.Pre staging area 3.Roller mat area 4.Ball mat area 5.Air side area.

Govt. Science College at Himanchalbihar
To fulfill long standing demand of local people Department of Higher Education , Government of West Bengal in association with Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority has taken up this project for construction of a new Government Science College at Himachalbihar , Matigara , Siliguri .
