Mahananda River Conservation Plan

SJDA has submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to NRCD for approval from Govt. of India on March 2004. The project has been approved technically and now placed to Economics Finance Committee for final approval. The project has been approved as 70:30 cost sharing basis between Central Govt. and State Govt., WB. The total project cost is Rs.38.04 crores in Phase-I, consisting the following project components:

1. Interception of Diversion Sewage System for Mahananda, Fuleshwari and Jorapani rivers.
2. Three (3) no. Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for Mahananda, Fuleshwari and Jorapani river.
3. River Front Development of Mahananda River.
4. Soil Conversation programme including afforestation.
5. Provision of Bathing Ghats along with bank protection.
