This is a project of
Siliguri Municipal Corporation. The Authority is partly funding to
this project to the tune of Rs. 20.00 lacs. Vivekananda road is one
of the major East-West road of Siliguri. Widening of this road will
help immensely to act this road as, one of the major East-West
Corridor of the town and also facilitates the traffic movement.
Widening of Sevoke Road
Widening work of the
major portion of the nSevoke3 Road is being executed by PWD, Govt Of
West Bengal. SJDA is doing the Street lighting work of this portion.
The approximate project cost of the SJDA work is to the tune of Rs.
25 lacs. SJDA will also undertake the balance portion of the
widening work very soon.
SJDA is making
partial funding of this project, which is being executed by Siliguri
Municipal Corporation.
Siliguri Junction improvement Scheme
Foreseeing the
future development and growth of this area in connection with the
conversion of the Meter Gauge to Broad Gauge Rail network, SJDA is
planning a project to cope with future traffic generation and its
associated problems. The project includes the entire are of present
Central Bus terminus, the Siliguri Junction Railway station area and
its surrounding area. The estimated project cost is around Rs.
150.00 lacs
Mahananda River Conservation Plan
SJDA has submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to NRCD for
approval from Govt. of India on March 2004. The project has been
approved technically and now placed to Economics Finance Committee
for final approval. The project has been approved as 70:30 cost
sharing basis between Central Govt. and State Govt., WB. The total
project cost is Rs.38.04 crores in Phase-I, consisting the following
project components:
Interception of Diversion Sewage System for Mahananda, Fuleshwari
and Jorapani rivers.
Three (3) no. Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) for Mahananda,
Fuleshwari and Jorapani river.
River Front Development of Mahananda River.
Soil Conversation programme including afforestation.
Provision of Bathing Ghats along with bank protection.
