Auditorium Cum Art Gallery, Jalpaiguri
Auditorium
Cum Art Gallery, Jalpaiguri was completed in November 1999. This has
provided state-of-the-art facilities for of cultural programmes to
the people of this area. This project has also opened up avenues for
nurturing local talent, and spreading the rich heritage of the
region. The auditorium has the facilities of 900 seats, Art Gallery,
Exhibit Hall, Library and Reading Room. The Auditorium is provided
with modern facilities of acoustics, electrification and
illumination, fire fighting, stagecraft, interior decoration,
air-conditioning and landscaped garden.

Fulbari - Ghoshpukur Bye-Pass, Phase II
This
By-Pass road of National Highway standard connects Fulbari, on State
Highway-12 with Goaltuli on Phansidewa - Ghoshpukur Road. The
purpose of construction of this road is to divert traffic on NH-31
to and from Calcutta and Guwahati, bye-passing congested areas of
Bagdogra and Siliguri.
The distance to North
Eastern States is also shortened by about 15 Km by this diversion
resulting in huge fuel and time saving to the traffic on this route.
The Siliguri City is also relieved of pollution and jams as the
heavy NH traffic passing through it's main road and business area is
now diverted by this bye-pass. Considering projected vehicular
traffic of 2000 vehicles per day the fuel savings shall amount to Rs
4.25 crores per annum.

Composite Complex, Jalpaiguri
The
project seeks to provide developed land for residential, office and
recreational purposes. First project of its kind in Jalpaiguri town,
it covers an area of about 41 acres and will provide all
infrastructure. It has been envisaged as a composite facility, which
will have both offices and residence in the same complex. Separate
areas have been earmarked for these uses. For residential purposes
both bulk land for Government offices and small plots for
individuals have been allotted
In 2000-2001 one road with drain was constructed to complete the
basic infrastructure in the project area. Some facilities like
market center and community hall shall be taken up after 50% of the
allottees start residing in the complex

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Bus Terminus, Jalpaiguri
The existing bus stand
at Netajipara was upgraded by providing terminal facilities like 11
bus bays with sufficient parking facilities for intra-city transport
like rickshaws etc., Cloak Room, Passenger Foyer, Cafeteria
,Boarding & Parking Bays and convenience shopping center with an
estimated cost of Rs: 60 loacs. The project has been completed in
December, 1998
